Premier K9 Training

Our Trainer

Sarah’s career in dogs began in 2011 with a Doberman Pinscher puppy named Diego. As an Agribusiness student at MTSU, Sarah decided she wanted a Doberman and Diego fell into her lap. She didn’t know anything about training, but knew he had to have some manners. That led to meeting an amazing performance sports trainer who shared with Sarah everything she could before retiring.

Sarah and Diego titled in multiple venues including: Obedience, Agility, Rally, Trick Dog, Animal Actor titling, Lure Coursing, and CGC. She has since titled multiple other Dobermans in various sports.

Sarah became a police officer in 2013 and she achieved her dream job in 2019 when she became a police K9 handler. She selected, trained, and handled her partner, Appie, as a dual purpose patrol K9. This work included detection, protection, apprehension, tracking and trailing. She and Appie together had numerous apprehensions and surrenders, and seized multiple pounds of narcotics. Appie is now retired and happy at home with his family.

Sarah is a Certified Canine Fitness Trainer through the University of Tennessee, an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, American Temperament Test Evaluator, an AKC Fetch Judge, an AKC FIT DOG instructor, and a Certified Canine Fitness Coach through the Do More With Your Dog organization.

She is a working member of the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Police Benevolent Association, the Doberman Pinscher Club of America, and the Doberman Pinscher Club of Nashville where she has served 3 years on the Speciality show committee.

Sarah graduated from MTSU with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture in 2012. She is also a licensed Emergency Medical Responder and has attended K9TCCC.
